`stuck' programme

Help - need to delete an used programme and each time I try to do so I get
`Microsoft has encountered a problem' and it stops. Anything else I can do to
get this off and regain the space I need?

It might help if we knew what the program was

OOps - Star Office - I think it also has `5.2' in the name - came as a
`freebie with my package but pretty useless and unused.

The PC problems may also be why you cannot uninstall, without the err.
1) Try booting into safe mode an uninstalling there, via Add/Remove
2) and / or if you have reinstallation media, try reinstalling then,
Add/Remove

Thanks - tried this but still there ! Have now solved some other problems but
will leave this one alone for now - I'm too fed up to try any more. Have
spent 2 hours trying to get on here to tell you !! Had to use `restore point'
to get anywhere. Have now speeded up a bit but don't understand why system is
so slow when I have over 58% free space after defragmenting ! Any ideas? Also
- how do I find out what my top row of buttons F1 to F12 does?
