Now that I got the repair install going, I get an error
message about 1/2 way through the install that says "The
procedure entry point GetIums could not be located in the
dynamic link library msdart.dll" The only thing I can do
is reboot, I am stuck in this loop. Anyway to fix this?
Thanks

I don't know why you started this Repair Install.
Let me say that a Repair Install should be one of
the very LAST troubleshooting steps for Windows XP
because you will be removing all critical updates that
had previously been applied including XP Service Pack 1
unless it is included on your XP CD. So if you connect to
the Internet immediately after that Repair Install and you
do not have the XP Internet Connection Firewall enabled
or a third-party firewall running or are behind a router,
you will immediately be hit by an msblaster or sasser worm!
So if you have a cable modem that does not go through a
router, you best physically disconnect it before the Repair
Install completes.
Stop rebooting during the Repair Install.
When you get the "The procedure entry point GetIums
could not be located in the dynamic link library msdart.dll"
error, just keep clicking "OK" (it may take about 60 clicks).
The error is due to the fact that you had previously upgraded
to Media Player 9 and now the XP CD is trying to overwrite
it with Media Player 8 (another reason that a Repair Install is
one of the last troubleshooting steps to take). If you just keep
clicking OK when you get that error message, the Repair Install
will continue.
