Hi, I'm running Windows2000 on a laptop.

Starting yesterday, whenever I start Windows (whether
normally or in safemode), I get stuck with a blank screen
after the starting windows, and logon to Windows screen.

I tried bringing up the task manager with Ctrl+Alt+Delete,
and in the Processes List, I noticed that these 3 programs
keep showing up by rotation:
"ntry.exe", "javavs32.exe" and "sysvr32.exe"

At any one time, there'd be at least 2 copies of each,
they disappear immediately and a new one show up soon
after, thus I cannot use "End Process" to stop them.

since I'm still stuck at the blank desktop, and no
startmenu, I can't run any virus scanner either.

Does anyone know how to fix it?

Thank you very much

These sound like spyware programs that have hijacked your PC
and are now absorbing all its resources. You could try pressing
Ctrl+Shift+Esc to launch the Task Manager, then launch a new
task "iexplore.exe". This would let you go to the AdAware site.
Download it, then run it. Here is the likely shortcut for it:

"C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-aware 6\Ad-aware.exe"
