Stuck at "Power-on Password"

I tried to delete the Power-on Passwod, and now when I try
to boot-up "Power-on Password" + a key icon appears, but
can go no further. Mouse and keyboard don't respond

If you are not on e newer thinkpad reset the cmos via the jumpers on the mothreboard or pulling and replaceing the cmos battery .. that should reset the BIOS to its default settings and get you around the power on password
