Stuck after trying to remove old Easy CD Creator drive from registry

Running Windows XP Professional - Windows always disabled drivers on my computer that made Windows unstable. This caused my CD-ROM and DVD drive to not function.

I was advised by an article on support website that old Easy CD Creator drivers were not compatible with XP, and that I needed to remove them from the registry

Fortunately I did set a recovery point before I went in the registry. However, now when my computer starts, it gets to the USER screen (blue screen with option to select me or my wife) but the mouse cursor is frozen in one place and will not move. I've tried different mice, but to no avail

When I reboot and press F8, I get a screen asking me to select a drive to start from - External, Hard Disk, or CD-Rom. I've tried the CD-ROM with my Windows XP disk, but no luck

Don't know what to do?

Hi Landon,

Go to the BIOS and change the boot order so that it boots first from
the CD-ROM, put your XP CD and perform a repair install.

Check this site for detailed instructions:
