Uninstall Easy CD Creator from Win XP

Like others in this forum, I installed an old version on Easy CD Creator on my new Window XP machine and found that they are incompatible. AFter much trial and error, I got things back up and running, but I still get a message on startup that says, "CD Recording Software will cause Windows to become Unstable". Using instructinos from the Microsoft Knowledgebase, I have used "Add/Remove" Programs to uninstall Easy CD Creator. The instructions then say to search for cdr*.sys and rename two files names cdr4_2k.sys and cdralw2k.sys. I did not have these two files, but did have one named cdr4vsd.sys. Is this a remnant of CD Creator and should I rename it? Same question related to removing keys from the registry with the same names. I have cdr4vsd, but not cdr4_2k and cdralw2k. Can I safely delete the one I have?

Roxio offers a small program that uninstalls all version of Easy CD Creator,
thoroughly, including cleaning the registry. It is called "roxiozap.exe",
and is free at their support website.

cdr4vsd.sys is the file cdr*.sys you were looking for the * is a wild card
meaning any letters or numbers.
In this case * was the "4vsd".
