Stubborn File

Spy Sweeper keeps detecting a file which will start when Windows starts. It
is 'msmsgs.exe' and, apparently, has to do with messenger. I don't want
Microsoft messenger on my system. Is this a required file for some purpose
and I should let it stay on the system or how can I keep it off. The
problem is that shortly after I've deleted it - via Spy Sweeper - it
reappears.

What's going on with this?

Mike

The "real" msmsgs.exe file is located in the c:\windows\System32 folder, if
it is found elsewhere likely it is a virus/malware.
Scan your system from safe mode with up todate Anti Virus, don't rely
on Spy Sweeper to protect your PC.

It better NOT be in your system32 folder. By default, it resides in the
Programs Files\Messenger folder.
