Streaming Video Problem

R

Richard Hartman

I have two systems (specs appended below). On the supposedly weaker system
(Dell Inspiron 600m laptop), streaming works just fine, even at 700k. On
the supposedly more powerful system (HP Multimedia PC) streaming even at
400k is subject to pauses and jerkiness. This is on the same network, with
the same streaming source (icenetwork.com). I have even run both
simultaneously (to eliminate possible differences in the server network
quality at different times) and the laptop still performs better than the
multimedia pc.

Can anybody suggest why the weaker system performs better? And how I could
get the Multimedia PC to live up to it's potential?

TIA,

-Richard M. Hartman

More than likely you need to clean the registry files on your computer. I would suggest downloading a free program called CCleaner made by Piriform.

If this doesn't work try some of the advice listed on this site, http://www.delete-computer-history.com/slow-streaming-video.html, but I would not suggest trying the "free scan" because it may download a program that you will not want and not be able to get rid of (as is the case with almost all "free scan" downloads).

If you still have problems, I have some great laptops that will do streaming video for sale on my website, <a href="http://www.dealtechlaptops.com>www.dealtechlaptops.com<a/>.

If that link doesn't come out right, try www.DealTechLaptops.com
(I would know if the first one would work, but this is my first time posting on eggheadcafe, and I don't know if you can post html to provide a link to a website or not).

Try cleaning the registry files. A good program for this is CCleaner, it's easy to use, just be sure when the program asks you if you want to backup your system that you save the backup in a place where you can find it later (just in case you made any changes you want to later undo).

If that doesn't work, e-mail me at (e-mail address removed).

Hello.. There might be some problems due to which streaming is slow..
1.Check your video card might be there is some problem in it.
2. Some time some toolbars are installed in browser by mistake these toolbars cause ads due to these ads streaming is slow. To avoid these ads use some ad blocker.
3.Might be there are more cookies in browser. Use CCleaner to clear all the cookies..
