Streaming Video Clips Capture

R

Rebecca

Greetings. I've asked this question now three times, but
I'll try again. Three times is a charm, I hope. I am
using a notebook with Windows XP and IE 6.0. Whenever I
watch streaming video online at www.cbs.com or similar
news sites, I sometimes would like to copy / save / record
(whatever) the short video news clips and study the
content with my students (who are studying English as a
foreign language). I am not trying to capture video from
an offline TV station, but the streaming video and the
like on the Internet (some sites used RealAudio, others
Windows Media Player), you know, the small windows that
pop up and show the video clips. What software can I use
that can capture / download / record (whatever) these
short news clips? Do I need special hardware to do this?
Thank you very much for your help.

If they can be captured without the aid of third party software, you will
find a copy of them in your Temporary Internet Files.

If they are streamed from the host correctly, they are not supposed to be
captured on your own PC. That's the whole point of them... they are
copyright to the site on which they are streamed from.
