Streaming Audio No Sound

I recently discovered in accessing streaming content there is no audio. I
tried BBC and NPR Radio and the Video streams but not the audio. Sound
controls are ok and all other audio software setting as far as I can tell. I
reinstalled Windows Media Player 11 again thinking I might be missing a CODEC
but that didn't help. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Systematically check everything from the speakers back. Speaker plugs in
sound card, power cord in/on, check if volume control is muted or set too
low. Check sound level in Media Player also. The FAQs and KB may have an
answer already. The codec downloads may be blocked by system administrator
settings also.

In the Options you can set it to download codecs automatically if needed.
Tools > Options > "Player" tab. Check "Download codecs automatically".
