Strange Windows XP Accounts

S

Skavenger

When I boot Windows XP Pro I have two accounts set up.
At the log in screen I have a choice of the following accounts which I set
up:

1. Bill Harvey (Set as Administrator)
2. Daily User (For all the familiy)

When I booted in safe mode at the log in screen I was faced with a slightly
different set up:

1. Administrator
2. Bill Harvey

No daily user.
I tried to log into the Administrator account but I don't have a password, I
do not remeber setting this account up unless its an old one, but why does
it only show in Safe Mode? How do I get into it tried all my old passwords
to no avail.
The only administartor account should be the Bill Harvey Account?

Any Help?

I can tell you for a fact that every XP installation has a default
"administrator" account which is normally hidden from view in normal
operation mode. This is a "safety net" in case you where to "loose" the
password/access to your standard administrator account. Do not remove it.
You should be able to replace the password of "administrator" by loggin is
as your Bill Harvey account.

Did the person who installed Windows XP set a password?
There is no default password from a normal installation.
Some OEMs may set a default password, in that case, contact the OEM.
