strange windows update problem and freeze

i was to have december security update for this month on 11 Dec.
Unfortunately, it has been like this since then. It goes the line something
like that, "Thank you for the updates to the Windows XP. It was to work on
windows operating systems, not for mactinosh(mac)". I have been using Windows
XP all the while. After the offical release of security updates few days
later, my computer freezed upon windows desktop starup. Without the
connnection to the Internet, the situation improved. I need my com to be
working again due to important office works. Please help!
