Strange URL

Since installing IE7, this URL shows in my address line:
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=74005
It never connects, but I can't permanently delete it.
My usual home page remains unchanged in
Internet Options
Any ideas greatly appreciated. XPHome/SP3

You're link resolves to this
http://runonce.msn.com/runonce3.aspx

It invites you to change your default search provider. In Internet
Explorer select Tools, Internet Options, General, Search, Settings. Is
the setting as you thought it was?

What are your anti-virus and anti-spyware arrangements?

This is the link I was expecting - and it appeared just
after I posted my query. Can't think why it took so
long, 4 days after the IE7 install, and I don't know
where the other URL came from.
I use Avast also Adaware and Malwarebytes.
