strange update

Three-four times in last two weeks I've gotten an official
looking notice of latest MS update. It's identified as

ADODB.stream[KB870669]

Yet when I enter this I.D. on the MS home page it does not
return anything. I'm suspicious. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi Bruce,

It is a legitimate update but, only take it from the Windows Update scan or
Windows catalog. Do not open an attachment that claims to be any update, it
is most likely a virus. See the following link. It gives you instructions to
manually perform the update.

For some, this update has caused major network issues. Check with the
Windows Update group for more info:

and take the link to download it for Windows XP etc a part way down. It
is a VERY important one to block the hole about which there was a great
deal of worry last week
