Strange Symantec File

I have WinXP Pro sp2 and Norton A/V 2005.

I noticed two strangely-named CAB files in the root directory. Here's one:
C:\4d417b01-deff-4f9c-af9f-57c467a41d1e.cab

When extracted, this gives a relatively small XML file, that appears to have
been created by Symantec, because the following line appears:
<UPLOADDATA USERNAME="4d417b01-deff-4f9c-af9f-57c467a41d1e" PRODUCTID="Sdc
User" PRODUCTNAME="supportal" PROBLEMDESCRIPTION="Symantec ASA Index"
Severity="normal" />

Anyone know what this is?

Hi,

I am not sure if we had the same thing, but just for your reference:

I also found a similar file resided at system room (C:) after I run "Auto
Fix" from Symantec's web site - the ActiveX tool for detecting any problems
of user's install Symantec products, and in my case, it is a problem of
"advanced option" of NIS 2006.

I simply deleted it and apparently did not encounter any problems (knock 3
times) at this time.

Wondering if you have also went to their site and did something similar as
mentioned above.

If so, you may safely to removed it. But for the sake of safety, you may
wish to send their tech support a message just to confirm it.

Hope this helps.
