Someone out there to help/advise?
Computer starts and stays on for about 30minutes. I receive first a beep
(when the pc is actually finished loading and you begin working) , and then
about 10-minutes later another beep and then multiple strange sounds and
suddenly pc is off.
I have been thinking of a virus infection (rpc) but then in that case you
get a warning that the pc will restart in .....seconds. There is no such
warning.
Is this a sympton of a failing part - memory/ harddisk or even mobo?

Gigabyte 6wmmc7 (well old stuff :-)))) but has been good till now)
Celeron processor.
128MB. WIN 2000 PRO.
20GB.

Might be worth checking the various temperature sensor readings in the BIOS
after the PC's been running for 20mins or so.

We had some very hot weather last week and one of my PCs at home did almost
the same thing, opened it up and found one of the fans was jammed and the
heat sinks were clogged up with cat hair (don't ask ....)
