strange sound

I just saw this posted in the newsgroup and I have the same problem. "A few weeks ago my IE 6.0 started to make a strange horn like sound when I open a new webpage. It only happens about with about half the webpages. It's really an obnoxious sound. I've turned off the play sound in webpage option using tools/internet options. That does not stop the strange sound. It only occurs when I surf the web and only with about half the pages. I've gone into windows control panel and unchecked all sounds. That didn't work. Then only thing I can do is turn the volume all the way down. There's got to be a better solution than that. Can anyone please tell me how to stop this very annoying sound." So I too am looking for a solution to this. It is really annoying

I've been hunting for it also,mines like a quick series

of cherps,if you look fast at the pointer it goes to an
hourglass for a second everytime it does it.i think I
have it narrowed down to spybot or another spyware tool I
loaded(now I can't find)running in the
background.checking the registry,and watching for the
next one in the task manager.Do you have spybot search
and destroy,Bazooka buddy,or cw shredder loaded?It has to
be one of these,or a pop-up blocker tool that's
hidden.Will reply again WHEN I find it.
