Strange right click behavior

G

Guest

My PC has recently started trying to launch a program whenever I right click
on a desktop icon, shortcut, file in explorer, taskbar shortcut, etc. As it
happens the program it tries to run is not correctly installed so it actually
tries to install it. If I cancel the install dialog, the context menu
appears and works normally.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

What is the program? Run the Windows Installer Clean Up Utility and remove
any references to that program.

_If_ you want to remove the reference to that uninstalled program, click
Start, Run and enter REGEDIT Go to the following branches and see if
you can locate the relevant subkey. Remove it.

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shell
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
