Strange Programs

A friend has a computer with Windows 2000 Professional that seems to be
practically unusable for a persistent pop-up that wants the user to Log On or
work Off Line. There are two Icons on the Desktop that deal with
TMT{TM}Mutant Melee{TM}. There are shortcuts: one Setup and the other an
executable, perhaps. I would not dare click on any of them.
When trying to restart, another pop up comes on that says that
pokapoka79.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows.
Additionally, the program should be restarted. It also says that an Error Log
is being generated. The computer, then, goes into some activity that seems to
take forever. At that point, it's time to shut it down or reboot.
Does anyone know what this might mean?
There are no original CD's with the Unit.

Mutant Melle TM is a game, whether someone has downloaded the setup, or
installed the game?
