Strange program running

I have a strange program running at startup that I can't identify. It's
called "ryfmtahov.exe" and is located in the C:\winnt folder. What's even
stranger is it shows to be created on 9/2/02; I haven't installed any
programs in over 2 weeks. I've run Ad-aware and a full virus scan.

Any ideas?

Update your virus definitions and scan again, I'm 90% confident it'll be
some virus which randomises the name of it's .exe - 99% if it's added
itself to the startup program list(s).

Or try one of the online scans from the likes of www.symantec.com or
www.trendmicro.com. And then worry about how it might have got there ..
Do you run kazaa? Do you have open shares visible (while you're at
symantec, try their internet security 'port scanner'). Do you have a
wireless network?

I couldn't locate any information regarding it on Google. It may be
a "pest" or "spyware" or even some kind of virus. Make sure your AV
software is up to date and use a spyware remover. I recommend using
"SpyBot" (do a search on Google and download). BTW, Ad-Aware is not
being kept up to date and I do not recommend using it. Use Spybot
instead.

To stop "ryfmtahov.exe" from running on startup: Click Start, Run,
and type in msconfig.exe. When the configuration editor opens,
select the Startup tab. Remove the checkmark from the program that's
running ryfmtahov. Reboot.

This is not accurate. You must update to version 6, build 181 (free) which
is an excellent program and is updated often. The updates don't work with
the older builds. There is no reason not to use both ad-aware and spybot.
