Strange Problem with local Profiles.

Last night a machine was turned off on the network. This morning the user
comes in and turns the computer on and logs on to the network and her
profile has gone. Everything she had on her desktop and in my documents was
missing.

Does anybody know if I can get any off the data back and what I can do to
stop it from happening again.
