I'm setting up a new homebuilt PC which has 2 drives. After installing
XP Pro w/SR1 and getting all the on-line updates from Microsoft I
noticed that my D: drive (the one I'm planning to use for data)
contained a bunch of strange folders and files in the root folder:
3B3/SP2 (empty)
473b27e4f126882e26789dec8b3fa803d/SP2/update/update.exe
08369576ce1a8area6/SP2/update/update.exe
....and 3 more with the same cryptic long names (all have an "SP2"
folder and the update.exe file)
I tried deleting these but they are marked as "system" files and are
protected ("access denied").
If it matters, my C: and D: drives are actually RAID 0 arrays
implemented through the Abit IC7-G motherboard.
Can I get rid of these files and if so, how?
Thanks for the help.
