strange file-no extension

Hello,Found a file in (C:/Documents and Settings/beamish) listed as "
~ file" without an extension,size 172kb inside a few numbers(3 2
3) and a few letters(r a g) mostly spaces,date 1/22/2004.Placed
file in the recycle bin.Tried using Google but nothing found.
Stand alone- non-network- single user-56kmodem- WindowsXP Home-3 month
old unit.
Any information concerning this type of file?

It's a bug in Windows associated with the address book (by
recollection). Known to Microsoft and discussed here hundreds of tiems.
Just delete it.

Hi Beamish - It's a copy of your Address Book (caused by a glitch in a
recent
OE hotfix). MS is aware of the problem. You can either ignore it, delete
it (it will probably be recreated the next time you make an Address Book
change), or hide it - or you can just be happy to have a backup available.
Just rename the extension to .wab and open in Notepad to see this.
