Kenny

When I put a CD or DVD in drive I get the "What do you want Windows to do"
as expected but I have a strange entry in the list of actions.
It's two strange symbols on top line and on the second line "using <need
provider>", no quotes.
I have no idea what this is, am very curious about it and don't know how to
get rid of it.
Any suggestions appreciated.

Hi Kenny

A year or so ago I had a similar problem and successfully removed the
rogue entry with a free tool called Autoplay Repair, here:
http://www-stud.uni-essen.de/~sddabacz/prog.php?id=apr

Hope this helps :-)

Thanks to both for the replies.
The Autoplay Repair at:
http://www-stud.uni-essen.de/~sddabacz/prog.php?id=apr
didn't work, probably because I don't have Net Framework but the one here:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/autoplayhandlers.htm. did.
All's OK now and the rogue entry has gone.
