Stops Responding

We are using Outlook 2000. I am noticing an issue that seems to be related
to using Outlook 2000 and Windows XP. The issue is Outlook "stops
responding" while synchronizing folders.

a. If I give a user a new computer that has XP, they immediately begin
complaining about this issue.

b. If I set up a remote user ( dial-up connection via RAS) with an XP
notebook, they complain about this issue also.

It almost seems as though XP causes Outlook 2000 to not be as forgiving of a
slow connection ?

Don't think so....but with any remote user, esp. dialup, they ought to be
set up with an OST file and have OL prompt to work offline or connect. They
should choose offline & sync in the background, either manually (F9) or with
scheduled syncs. This works a LOT better than having them try to connect
live.
