Since i installed XP SP2 when i try to safely remove hardware (so far i've
only done this with usb) i get a blue screen at the instant i click on "stop"
and my computer reboots. i also tried pulling the USB devices out without
stopping them but this had exactly the same result. can anyone advise me on
this problem? help would be appreciated as i use USB infra red and Disgo usb
memory key.

With the amount of information you've provided I'm sure people are going to
be falling over themselves to assist you. A blue screen tells nobody
anything. The best I can do is point you to
http://aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm where you can look up the STOP code and
read troubleshooting information. Other than that
