Stopping things on startup

I have installed SP2, and now everytime I boot up things
want to come up automatically.

First it's Windows Media Player, then Outlook Express and
then Internet Explorer. I can't do anything on my
computer until these load so that I can shut them down.

Can someone tell me how to stop these things from coming
up automatically.

I have tried Msconfig already, and that didn't help.

Check Options or Preferences for the offending program and turn off the
Start when Windows starts option (if it has one).

Type "msconfig" from "Run..." and you can change the
programs you want to load @ "Start up" tab.
