Stopping Pop-ups

I have Internet Explorer 6, is there someway I can stop
pop-ups from coming up? Using a firewall or something? If
there is can someone please tell me what I have to do to
prevent getting the pop-ups.

If you are running Windows XP then wait a few days until you get SP2:
"Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) Support Center "

In SP2 the IE6.x browser comes with a popup blocker.

As you can see, it will also turn on the XP firewall. By the road... you
should always run a firewall and antivirus software!

If the SP2 doesn't do what you need or you aren't XP, I
have been happy with the firewall program from ZoneAlarm,
which used to be a free download for personal use. I use
it for business, so I paid, but the fee was reasonable.
Be careful, because lots of programs use pop-up type
features that will get filtered out as ads if you aren't
paying attention!
