Running XP SP2

How do I stop windows installer window from launching and trying to install
an application I do not want installed? Currently, I have Office 2000
installed. However, when I try to open e-mail from within IE7, the window
installer launches and trys to install Office 2003.

Thanks.

Newbie running XP SP2 Office 2000 installed.

Jose,
I went to the link downloaded and installed "Windows Install CleanUp."
Launched the application >removed files for Office 2003> exited the
program>restart my pc> opened IE7 > I selected the mail icon (within my
browser) and received this error message: "Cannot start Microsoft Office
Outlook. MAPI32.DLL is corrupt or the wrong version. This could have been
caused by installing other messaging software. Please reinstall"

What I don't understand is: Outlook 2000, is working just fine outside of
using my web browser to access mail.

How can make my browser recognize Outlook 2000 again?

Thanks,
Mac

You might try to open IE ,click on tools, click on internet options,
then click the Programs tab at the top and make sure that the email
option is set to Outlook 2000 and not Outlook 2003. If someone tried to
install Office 2003 and didn't open any of the applications from an
Admin account it could leave you like this. Just a sugestion.
