Stop message 0x00000024

My computer (Windows XP Home Edition OEM-Compaq) froze
yesterday and when I rebooted, I can no longer access
Windows. I can't even access safe mode. I get a blue
screen with this stop and suggestions on disabling virus
control or backup utilities. I have no idea how to do
that without being in Windows itself. What can I do?
Please help

Jason, unless you have a WinXP CD and can do a Repair Install, it looks
like you may have to resort to the recovery
disks that come with Compaq. Go to their site to find out more info. If
you have a CD then go here.
