Stop Media player playing in IE

I downloaded some videos from Microsoft and I clicked a button saying I would
like to show videos in Internet Explorer. Now, I want to show them in Media
player instead, but don't know how to restore the setting.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

One way to restore the setting is upgrade to Service Pack 2, because they
mysteriously removed the ability to play files in the IE sidebar after that.
Not sure why.

If you don't want to upgrade to SP2 (which I would strongly recommend, but
not for this reason), just open up your IE's options (Tools > Internet
Options). On the Advanced tab, there is a multimedia section, and a
check-box to play files in the media bar.

Media Player is stuck in a sidebar type of position of the IE window? I did
this once too. IIRC, I right clicked within the Media Player area (try the
strip are that runs along the top of the player) and found options there to
remove it. Sorry if this is vague but it's been a long time since this
happened and XP is not available to me at the moment to repro the scenario.
