Stop IE from auto download zip files

Reverman

Whenever I click on a link to a zip file IE starts
downloading it into a temporary folder (After its don the
file does not appear anywhere on my computer). But if am
able to right click and use the save as option to download
the zip file I have no problems.

However some sites do not allow right clicking on thier
links. How to I make IE ask me where I want to download
zip files when I click on them instead of just launching a
download?

Thanks

I do not have the specific instructions at the moment,
however I can at lest give you a hint for what youare
looking for.

The option is "always ask before opening this file type"
somewhere along the way, you/someone unchecked that and
now it no longer prompts you.

If you go to the support.microsoft.com, and try those key
words, you will find what you are looking for.

Open Windows Explorer and go to Tools | Folder Options | File Types.
Scroll down to the file type in question and select it.
Click Edit or Advanced, depending on your Windows version.
Check the box for "Confirm open after download"."Reverman"
