I have a new system and each piece of hardware is on the
Microsoft HCL. The only things I have installed while
attempting the OS install are my motherboard/processor,
memory and video card. It would go so far as to allow me
to choose whether or not I want to perform a new install,
a fix or recovery then it would either blue screen or
reboot. The stop error I would usually get would be
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. Everything is new that is
installed in the machine. Could I have bad memory? The
POST I get when I boot is and "a-ok" post. I have tried
to use all devices on one IDE cable and I've also tried
giving each device it's own IDE cable. The settings are
correct on each as well (i.e. Master/slave etc..) Any
suggestions?
