STOP error: inacessable boot device

I just popped in a Shuttle AN35N Ultra MB with a AMD 2600+
Barton 333Fsb with 512 mg mem to go with it, vid card is a
GeForce4 MMx(or, something to that degree) and when I
tried to boot up, the loading bar would go half way and
never go farther, the moving colors would, but not the
loading pbar itself. I then restart, F8, try safe mode,
the starting sindows 2000 black and white bar pops up, and
get to the end then stops.
I then get the 2000 pro disc and have the comp boot from
it to try and repair, or reinstall the OS, the ble screen
with white error messages pops up after the disc loads all
it's drivers to function.
I then do get it to work, wipe the drive, and install
2000... but using a different comp.
I put the origional HD back into my new computer, and I
get a STOP Error screen whtn the win 2000 loading bar
finishes, and the biggest letters say Inacessable boot
device. it works on my other computer (p3 1gz, intel
board, 512 mem, same vid card).
I've tried turning off all the other ide devices through
the bios, reseting the bios, yelling obcenities,
opoligizing, more obcenities, and so forth.
Can anyone out there please tell me why 2k hates my new
computer? I have a Win XP disc sitting here too, if
that'd work, but I've been using 2k for a while now, and I
appreaciate the stability, and that I know my way around
it.

Looks like the Chipsets on the NEW motherboard & OLD motherboard ARE
different...sounds very much like the crux of the problem.

Try the following.

1. Create an image ofthe ORIGINAL version using say Ghost & stack it away
for backup incase...
2. Then uninstall all DRIVERS on the Win2000 version especially IDE drivers
(& eventual chipset related drivers e.g. Via 4in1 drivers if you have the
VIA chipset on the OLD board) if you have them installed.
3. Swap the board & try again...that should work...
