Stop error acpi.sys

P

Peter Afonin

Hello,

I'm trying to install Windows 2000 Pro on the new laptop Toshiba Satellite
M35X-S149.

Every time I load Windows I get a PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA error caused
by acpi.sys. How can I install Windows?

I would appreciate your help very much.

Thank you,

Check that the system bios and other hardware is Windows 2000 compatible.

Thank you, Dave. Tried - didn't work. Called Toshiba - they don't support
Win2k.

I ran into this and the only option was to disable acpi in the bios.
Then w2k installed just fine. You don't get autoshutdown or other acp
features but that was ok

I am having the same problem and couldn't disable acpi from the bios.
Could you post how you did it?

problem is likely being caused by RAM, possibly a corrupt ide connect
on mobo...more than likely ram tho...dl wipe.exe from internet, wipe
hd, use fresh install, if that doesnt work its almost 100%
RAM...something to do with HIMEM.SYS, dont want to get into it, but
thats what it is
