Stop Error 0x50 Page Fault in Non Paged Area

I am trying to resolve a Stop Error Problem on my daughters XP SP2
Home computer.

I have googled extensively as well as visited the Microsoft KB and
looked at Jim Eshelmans (http://aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm) excellent
pages.

I have run numerous MemChecks and ChkDsks everything there seems ok.

I understand that there are a number of possibilities for the error
and am trying to pin it down to something more precise.

The strange thing about this error is that it only happens once per
day - on initial boot up - and doesn't happen every day.

On the occasions when it does happen, reboot and everything is fine
for the rest of the day.

That would seem to suggest that a program or event which only occurs
once per day on initial boot is causing the problem, but I can't
identify what that might be. I uninstalled the Virus Checker (AVAST)
which does check for updates daily, and it ran OK for a while, so I
installed AntiVir as an alternative, but the problem has come back.

There are no activities in Windows Scheduler.

The only regular pre scheduled activity is a backup using EZBackup,
run every day at 8.00pm daily (assuming the machine is on at the
time).

I'm getting pretty stumped and would appreciate any suggestions for
further remedial or diagnostic action.

Please post an exact copy of the Stop Error message and corresponding
entries in Event Viewer,

Please check Event Viewer for Warning / Error Reports in the System and
Application logs and post copies.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Administrative Tools, and
Event Viewer. When researching the meaning of the error, information
regarding Event ID, Source and Description are important.

HOW TO: View and Manage Event Logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;308427&sd=tech

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double click
on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a button
resembling two pages. Double click the button and close Event Viewer. Now
start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of the message. This
will paste the info from the Event Viewer Error Report complete with links
into the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from Event
Viewer.

Thanks for your response.

Unfortunately i don't have the exact details of the stop message (blue
screen) because the Stop did not occur on bootup this morning, and I
did not record the message previously, however I do know it was a Page
Fault in non Paged Area. Stop 0x50

I attach the event log message from the last Error stop which did
occur yesterday: There were no other warning or Error messages from
Bootup to Stop - here were of course numerous "information" events
generally just reporting the start of various services.

This error log is identical to all previous Error stop logs

The latter prompts me to suggest you reset the pagefile to
no page file, restart the computer and then return the page
file to it's original setting. Start, Control Panel, System,
Advanced, Performance Settings, Advanced, Virtual
Memory, Change, check No page file, click on Set and OK.

Another suggestion which caught my eye.

A troubleshooting approach from a newsgroup post: "Boot from CD
to start the Recovery Console, then read setuplog.txt, and setupapi.log,
to see what happens when it boots.
