Hi All. I am in deep trouble please help

I have been asked to update one of our contractor laptop from Windows XP SP1
to SP2. Surely didn't expect this will happen to me.

After the installation of Sp2, I reboot the laptop. The laptop blue screen

STOP: c0000135 {Unable to Locate Component}
This application has failed to start because winsrv was not found.
Re-installing
the application may fix this problem.

I look up on the knowledge base and there is article saying how to remove
Sp2 through recovery console at

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=875350&product=windowsxpsp2

I Insert the Windows XP CD-ROM into the CD-ROM then restart the laptop.

At the Welcome to Setup screen I press R
Press 1 for 1 C:\Windows.
Then prompted me for the administrator password, so I type the admin
password it said incorrect. I know that password is correct. I have tried it
many times with no luck.

Is there any other way I could by pass this stage or any other suggestion I
could reverse back to Sp1 will be much appreciated.

Thank you

The article you really should be working from is:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=885523&product=windowsxpsp2

However you still need to get into Recovery Console.
Are you sure you are entering the password for the BUILT IN Administrator account?

Have you tried just pressing <Enter> for a blank password?

If this laptop does not have a floppy drive and you are not able
to boot from an external floppy drive using the 6 XP boot disks,
you probably will need to run a parallel install to recover data or
if data recovery is not an issue, then just format and clean install
and start over again and make sure that T.V. Media (TvMedia.tvmbho)
is not on the computer before trying to install SP 2 again.

Hi

I am sure the password is correct and I have try just press <Enter> for a
blank password

I also try using this utility at http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/

No Luck : ( can't change the password.

Data recovery is not an issue but would prefer not to go down reinstall path.

Thank you
