Stop and Start greyed out (won't allow session)

I am running terminal services in remote administration
mode. The service for TS is running but the start and
stop buttons are greyed out. The server will not allow
remote sessions.

I have tried uninstalling terminal services. The same
thing happens when it is reinstalled.

Please help!

The fact that you can't stop or restart the Terminal Services
service is by design. See:

Which error message do you get when you try to connect?
Is there anything in the EventLog on the TS?

I get the error "The RDP protocol component "<component
name>" detected an error in the protocol stream and has
disconnected the client." It is event ID 50 source is
TermDD
