John

I get the following error in Win2000 sp4 when accessing a floppy on my
floppy drive.

Stop: 0x1e (0xC5, 0x80004001, 0x01, 0x06)
KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

Address 8000401 base at 80001000, date stamp 3e7a7338- hal.dll

I have the knowledge base article from microsoft on how to troubleshoot
Kmode exception errors.
The first thing it says to try is to replace the driver identified in the
message. hal.dll is a major file for windows, where can I find a new one?
Or should I even replace it.
2. the second thing it says is to disable the driver identified, but I cant
do that to hal.dll.
3. Verify new hardware is properly installed. reconnect it to see if that
solves it. ---I have done this.
4. Video driver- I have 3d prophet 4500 64 mb tv out- The driver is not
signed by microsoft.
