STOP: 0x0000007B Blue Screen

I have just performed the first part of "How to recover from a corrupted
registry that prevents Windows XP from starting."

However, now when I try to start my computer in safe mode, a blue screen
comes up that has only this for the information

STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF894C640, 0xc0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

You know how when you start in safe mode, it runs down a list of files being
loaded?? Well, I also noticed that the computer always pauses at
"System32/mup.sys" before going to a blue screen. Can anyone help me??
