Wow Dwight do you ever have an attitude problem and you
want help. Take a pill and a deep breath and stop with the
attitude. You're a techie figure it out. You haven't even
told us of any error reports in the event viewer or if you
have contacted a Norton Anti-virus NG for help. This is an
XP NG and you have problems with Norton. www.symantec.com
is their site. Keep smiling.

Well maybe if I hadn't had to wait for hours for some
snide comment like yours I wouldn't have any attitude!!

Fact remains I sat here and checked back every 30 mins or
so for over 2.5 hours and saw no replies of any type, not
even yours. But practically every other issue after my
original post have replies within minutes!!
That was why I got snippy. At least if U don't know, let
some one know, don't just leave them hangin forever!!


as for it being a norton issue, have you ever dealt with
norton??

Its worse than pulling teeth or getting anything from
congress!

as for error messages in the event log,...

I just went through it again after having allowed the
issue to re-ocurr and there ARE NO ERROR MESSAGES during
the time of the event happening!


Now any other ideas??

Well, just my two cents. uninstalling and reinstalling, even factoring in
your time to edit the registry, would have taken care of the problem in less
time than the 2.5 hours that you waited around here for the answer. Again...
that's just my 2 cents.

Dude,

I have had a problem accessing this newsgroup directly from
msnews.microsoft.com that I have now switched to my ISPs news server and
accessed the group from there. I'm guessing that others also have access and
posting problems.

People try to help here.

Stay cool. Have patience.

PS On the Norton issue, I'm a long-time user of their software and have
never used their phone or online support, but have just drilled down to
their knowledgebase and searched there -- always found answers to my
problems.

You do realize this is a strictly volunter forum. You are not entitled
to any answer. If someone knows a solution and FEELS like responding,
they will.

And 2.5 hours??? Ahh. I feel so sorry for you ( NOT ). I seen it take
longer for a post to show up at all.
