Surely SOMEONE would have some suggestions concerning my
Live Streaming Radio problem??? So for NO responses or
suggestions!

I posted it in XP Windows Media Player on 10/23/2003 at
5:05 P.M. Wimdows Music on 10/27/2003 at 1:51 A.M. and
here in XP General on 10/28/2003 at 10:47 A.M. In fact
you will only find the post here in XP General, if you do
a search in the subject line for Unique. For some reason
it no longer appears with all the other posts, in the
other discussion groups Media Player and Music it still is
in the list with all the other posts.

I have 2 other friends with XP-Home who also cannot
connect directly to the two stations I listed, while
others with XP have NO problems.

As I stated in the other postings what really makes
this puzzling is that after deleting files and cache (not
sure which ones) and reboot I 2-3 times I could listen to
each station with NO problem. BUT after I closed the
stream either by closing the player or logging off the
site, I could no longer connect to the stream.

I was hoping for suggestions or a tool I could use to
check for any conflicts.

Since I did get Live Streaming at least 3 times, I
would think that the conflict is not with Zone Alarm Pro
or Norton System Works Pro 2003. I have tried with both
shut down with the same negative results.

What I am hoping for is someone else will have the same
connection problems and will find the cause.

Thank YOU for your time,
Uncle Doug

Mary,
Thanks for trying to help! But still no luck with
those two radio stations. XP firewall is off and I
temporarily shut down Zone Alarm to check it out again ( I
had done this previously).

As I mentioned in my other posts this is a Unique
problem not only because many have no problems receiving
the stations, (but two friends I talked with cannot
receive them), AND because I did receive them 2-3 times
and now cannot.
Those at each station have no problem hearing the
other stream, and my ISP has windows 2000 and they have no
problem either.

Mary could you go to XP Music newsgroup and check out
that post!
It is dated 10/27 around 1:57 a.m. Do a search for
Unique in the subject line to find it faster.

You probably will have NO problems, but check both
stations out. Close down your browser or media player and
try again to see if they play a 2nd time. Not sure what
file I deleted the last time.

Thanks for your HELP with this Unique problem,
Uncle Doug

Mary,
Solved my problem but it doesn't make sense.
Media Player9 Options - Network - Proxy settings was setup
for use browser HTTP.
I changed the setting to Auto Detect and then I had
no problems connecting to WSMONLINE opening and closing
several times.
Then I tried to connect to KTRS.com and got the same
error message unable to connect to server Error CD00D1198.
I then tried to reconnect to WSMONLINE and the same
problem reoccurred, player appears but no buffering.

I then chose NO proxy in the network setting of
Media player. Didn't think it would work and it didn't.

I then went back to the original proxy setting use
browser http setting. Now I can connect to both stations
with NO problems (so far).

As I said it didn't make sense, but both stations
are playing with NO problems.

Again Thank YOU, for taking the time to respond!
