Still problems with Content Advisor and https sites.

I made a list and added all the https sites that are school has and added
them to be allowed but students still get additional blocking after adding
these sites initially to the Content Advisor to always allow. I know that if
I add them to the trusted sites section and additional prompt comes up but I
would like to avoid all future prompts if possible.

Hi Mike :)

What version of Windows are you using, and IE (SP1 SP2)?

Please post the wording of the prompts that you are getting. Also, what
firewall and popup blockers are you using, if any. Any 3rd party programs
such as Yahoo Companion, etc.

No pop up blockers installed except Internet Explorer 6 pop up blocker and
that is disabled for some of the registration windows. We don't have any 3rd
party programs installed. We are using
6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2gdr.050301-1519. We just get the Content Advisor has
blocked these three sites when I click on the links for them and I've already
added them to the alway allow section under Content Advisor:

https://webproc.mnscu.edu/portal/login.html?campusid=206
https://webproc.mnscu.edu/portal/lookupid.html?campusid=206

Privacy Report (Alt-V,v) shows that there is a mix of URLs on the first link.
Perhaps you need to allow http://www.saintpaul.edu as well?
If it matters I would alternatively try moving your .css files to the allowed
site. However, that is just a guess.

Good luck

To find the HOSTS file (justs "HOSTS" not HOSTS.SAM or lMHOSTS)
Windows XP… C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC
You may have to enable the viewing of Hidden files.

You might also try renaming your HOSTS file to OLDHOSTS and see if the
problem persists.

also... work through this list from MVP Mike Burgess:

1) Zone Alarm Pro [Private Header Info - enabled]
Turn off "Ad Blocking" and "Cookie Control" in ZAP (Privacy Advisor)

2) Symantec [Enable Browser Privacy - enabled]
Active Content - "Allow All Script To Execute"

3) Any "ad blocking" software that blocks "http_referer"
or contains entries that are blocking access to the desired site.

4) HOSTS file that contains entries that are blocking access to the desired
site.
Note: more on the HOSTS file at
The Hosts File (Gorilla Design Studio): http://www.accs-net.com/hosts/
Blocking Unwanted Parasites with a Hosts File:

5) Cookie blocking software that are blocking "required" Cookies.

6) Pop-up blockers that are stripping header\url info.

7) WebWasher Standard Filter/URL Filter

A third-party security program could also be blocking Javascripts.

Hope this helps.
