still don't understand 16 bit windows subsystem error

Thank you ssg and ayachy...I still don't understand what
to do...I have tried changing the destination like you
suggested, but it still says "no destination for"...I
also tried the URL for the article #165214 concerning
Ntvdm, and did discover that I am missing the command.com
file on my computer...
From what I understand of that article I can expand the
files from the cd, but then I get that error message. I
found system32--it is in c:\winnt\system32...and I have
changed the desination to that, but it still doesn't
work...I also cannot find the command.com file on the cd,
which I was told in another article to copy and paste to
the system32 file--I tried doing the same thing with
autoexec.nt and config.nt--writing something in notepad
and then copying it to the system32 file, but it did not
work.

Can I just reinstall xp and that will fix it, or will I
still have the same problem?

In the article it says

Using a REM statement, remark out all entries *except*
the following default entries:
Config.nt
---------
dos=high, umb
device=%SystemRoot%\system32\himem.sys
files=20

Autoexec.nt
-----------

lh %SystemRoot%\system32\mscdexnt.exe
lh %SystemRoot%\system32\redir
lh %SystemRoot%\system32\dosx
lh %SystemRoot%\system32\nw16 (only if CSNW is
installed)
lh %SystemRoot%\system32\vwipxspx (only if CSNW is
installed)

Does "remark" mean to delete...I tried opening one in
notepad, but couldn't find these entries--actually, these
are the same entries I typed into notepad and then pasted
into the system32 file.

Maybe I need to take some computer courses...I do
appreciate all your help, and feel bad that I do not
understand and need to ask for help again...
Thank you very much.

I realy don't understand too, this morning i had the same problem
again, and i copy the same files that i expand last day, and it works.
Try to just repair WinXP, i think it will resolve the problem.
