Hi,
We have a Dos Terminal Programme that we use to programme system processors via serial port. We are running Win XP Prof on HP Compaq NC600 Laptops. The problem we are experiencing differs from Laptop to laptop. The worst scenario is we cannot connect. From there it varies from being able to connect with a bit of noise disturbing the display. This would be characters appearing on the programming screen. This can be sorted out by doing a refresh. However on some of the laptops it is so bad you are unable to do any programming as the screen is total garbled. I have check setting between the laptops but cannot seem to see any difference with them. I have checked the programming cable for interference no go, as I use the same cable on each laptop and get the different conditions. I have checked the settings in the
config.nt
dos=high, umb
device=%SystemRoot%\system32\himem.sys
files=40
device=%SystemRoot%\system32\haspdos.sys
and autoexec.ini
