I
inquirer
When I go to run a dos program, I get a message telling me that
c:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt is not suitable for MS DOS or MS Windows. In
fact there is now autoexec.nt in that directory (but there is one in in
c:\windows\repair).
I have just installed a firmware update for a Pioneer DVD writer and I
suspect that the installation program deleted my autoexec.nt file.
I have not (knowingly) previously touched the autoexec.nt file so I don't
know its original contents. (I am running xp home sp1 on a Dell PC).
The only commands in the file in the repair directory are
@echo off
lh %SystemRoot%\system32\mscdexnt.exe
lh %SystemRoot%\system32\redir
lh %SystemRoot%\system32\dosx
SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 P330 T3
(all the other lines are remarks)
Could someone please tell me if I can just copy the file from repair into
system32 or do I have to create a new autoexec.nt. If so what must it have
in it?
Thanks a lot
Chris
