STILL can't get to Google

I have followed extensive instructions in this newsgroup
to get rid of the qhosts virus, delete spyware, change the
registry, patch IE 6, etc, and I STILL cannot get to
Google from the search bar, nor if I type in Google's
address. I have even tried uninstalling and reinstalling
IE 6, but that does not work either. What is left to do?

Hello,

I downloaded "Hijackthis" and followed all instructions.
My problem is solved! I have Google back! I can access
it via its web address and I can access it from my address
bar as default search engine. Thank you, thank you, thank
you!
