I recently updated to IE6 and I am running Win98. If I try to go to google's
or yahoo's page I get the message that it can't be found, but any other site
I visit works. Even lycos and altavista search sites. I read previous posts
about a QHOST trojan and tried those instructions but I obviously didn't
have the virus because it didn't work and my antivirus is up-to-date. Also I
tried deleting temp files and folders and index.dat and cleaning my host
file. I still can't get google or yahoo to load. It is really really
frusterating and it's starting to get under my skin. PLEASE HELP!!

If it is google and yahoo it is most likely qhosts. I
know that you have already tried to remove it, but you
probably have not gotten it all specifically the registry
items. In order to do this the easiest way use this
program to eliminate it:
http://software.brown.edu/dist/patch/clean/clean_qhosts.exe

If this still doesn't work than post back and I'm sure
someone can help you.
