starup problems

i set my screen resolution to 1024x768 and when i restart
the computer it switches back to 800x600 and i change it
again but it keeps happening. does anyone know what to do.
it didnt happen untill shortly after i got broadband.

My computer is a brand new dell
2.8ghz P4
80 gig hard drive
256mb ram

i believe the graphics card is an intel extreme that was
standard with the machine.
what made me think that it was the network connection was
that for weeks it worked fine on a resolution of 1024x768
everyting was fine until i installed broadband last night.
after one of the many resets the machine asked for while
setting up my connection the screen changed to 800x600 i
didnt mind this and changed it back to 1024x768 but after
another reboot it was back at 800x600 and it keeps doing this.

Go to intels website and download the drivers for your on board card and
reinstall them.

Had a similar problem once. Try uninstalling video drivers
and then reboot, let windows reinstall drivers. it worked
for me, good luck.
