startup problems

i set my screen resolution to 1024x768 and when i restart
the computer it switches back to 800x600 and i cahnge it
again but it keeps happening. does anyone know what to do.
it didnt happen untill shorlty after i got broadband.

This doesn't have anything to do with your network connection. Were you
ever able to have 1024x768? Do you have a very old monitor that only
supports 800x600 (it would have to be quite old)? Since you didn't give
us any hardware specs, it's hard to be more specific. Try updating your
videocard drivers from the device mftr.'s website. Otherwise, repost
back into this same thread with more details about your equipment
(including your monitor and videocard) and the problem.

thanks for the feply i'll try and explain my problem a bit
better

My computer is a brand new dell
2.8ghz P4
80 gig hard drive
256mb ram

i believe the graphics card is an intel extreme that was
standard with the machine.
what made me think that it was the network connection was
that for weeks it worked fine on a resolution of 1024x768
everyting was fine until i installed broadband last night.
after one of the many resets the machine asked for while
setting up my connection the screen changed to 800x600 i
didnt mind this and changed it back to 1024x768 but after
another reboot it was back at 800x600 and it keeps doing this.
